Please Help Find Our Pup

Because we can’t……

She was born on the 17th June 2013 and she was stolen on the Saturday 16th November 2013. Since that day our lives have changed forever…

Gone is our innocence.  In rural areas there is a belief that your safe. In Cornwall that belief is doubled by the fact we are fairly lucky with serious crime… Its getting more common but its still not  like big cities up country.

We used to believe if we popped out somewhere the dogs would be here when we got back….We know that’s a lie now!!  Indeed part of a stolen dog is you stop going out. If you have to all the time your worried someone is breaking in and stealing another.

We now know you wont get them home if they do….

In the UK only 5% of dog thieves and even less cat thieves are prostituted.

If they actually go to court the very worst they get is slappy wrists suspended  18 day sentences. Its not seen as a serious crime…

YET IT IS!!

We help other owners where and if we can. You may be surprised to know  how many owners of the stolen and missing end up on antidepressants. After all we know it’s liked being trapped inside perpetual grief that has no closure or healing.

Our innocence was knocked again by lack of scanning in the UK. We chipped our dogs because we  are responsible owners but also we swallowed that worn out lie chips help reunite! YES but only if someone bothers to scan …and there is the problem!!

In the UK absolutely NO-ONE has to scan.

Dog wardens don’t have to . Some have said they don’t have to us!! Does that make  anyone think they do? If they actually say they don’t have to  it doesn’t give us any faith they actually do.

Vets don’t have to… In fact some are even hostile to being asked to.

The BVA think best practice is good enough.

Defra think Best Practice is good enough.

ANY owner of the stolen or missing chipped animals knows that Best Practice is a joke!!

Anyone who has had dealings with Defra ,or actually any of us old enough to have been involved in the experiment protests of the 70’s and 80’s wont have much faith the BVA either, will know they wont change their position except if forced to by act of parliament. Change isn’t their buzz word!

Dog Theft really is a rising crime. Reuniting sadly isn’t. In Cornwall not one long term missing animal has been reunited. Not one and we have searched through so many data bases hoping to find just one….

One would give hope to the rest!! We would like it to be Pup but any will prove she could be found.

After the radio rant we were contacted by Cornwall Live. They did a lovely  piece as we kept banging on about ALL the Cornish missing so they added a vid with their posters.

We spoken to so many Cornish Owners to. We all have had enough that our missing family members are never found.

We just have no way to change it

Dog theft hurts.

We know what it does as Pup is one of them. It’s not something that goes away.

It eats into you all the time

Its relentless

You can’t stop worrying… You give up hoping  as whats the point …You don’t stop looking its just you don’t believe the looking will ever bring news.

It’s so tiring…

Add in fear that they will come back and you end up a mess.

You don’t sleep well… You become  so hurt as well. I would trade s much to get this hurt less deep.

One day, if we are very lucky, we might just find out where Pup is but having  complied the Cornwall’s Missing lists it will take far more luck than I think I can ever find…

We want our girl found and we can’t find her…

We want so much to actually be able to use her real name!! We wont reveal it as she may still know it and we don’t want ANYONE EVER being able to say they call her that….Not this name they don’t!!

Too often they get shared and remembered for a few weeks when they first go missing  then all too often they get forgotten.  Owners work really hard to keep their own baby out there and helped with shares, tweets and being remembered ….When they don’t or can’t the missing disappear off the public radar.

Some regional sites don’t have the long term missing from their areas on them.  We  did some research. In one area alone far too many of the listed  will now never be found as they are far too old to still be out there.  Far too many slid into shadows till death means they can never be got home.

A handful were looked for,  loved and missed  too long and can no longer be alive. This Collie will forever live in my heart as one we failed to find…

What Does It Take!!!!

When Pup was stolen I remember saying “She is chipped, it might a few weeks but we will find her” …

Hell how wrong can I be???

Here we are sliding slowly towards 3 years and we know where she is every bit as much as we did the day after she was stolen!!!

 

WE HAVE NOTHING….Nothing including no hope left!!!

 

Every single day I get told I am wasting my time…She (I am told) is long dead…Even someone answering the phone at the local police said it!! Told me I should be realistic…..No evidence except that ‘lovely’ line “Well you haven’t found her have you?” So there you go …if you have something stolen and can’t find it its dead!!!!  Idiot man….Sorry but he is.

We hit that lovely uncaring crap of ‘Bait dog, bait dog, bait dog’ on the ground here all the time…

No point looking for that she long dead….No point signing the scanning petition as they all long dead…… We try to educate but  its a waste of time…They adopt a  kind face (less they meant to hurt of course then its gleeful!!) and don’t even consider the alternatives….

Animal theft IS greed theft same as any other…While dogs are fought and its every bit as horrendous as my  worst dream  its the least likely option for Pup.

So Pup was stolen and sold…. I know it the same as I know she is very much alive but I also know I stand about as much chance of finding her as single-handedly catching a moon beam on a clear summer day!!

My worst fear for her is really stuck in a dive as a breed machine…. I didn’t believe it was a good idea to spay at 3 months but now I really wish Pup had been….

I can never see her happy and safe…

That shit didn’t just steal out dog he stole my life!! Ever second of every day I have a bit (or all) of my brain  thinking about her. The only thing that remotely eases the  hurt the thinking brings is heavy duty trance music…. Listening to hard core Trance  has become very much part of my life…. Mind it is good 😉

I would have liked it anyway, just I need it now as well…It drives away that huge  agonising pit  of hurt Pup brings.

We hit social media late. We joined up  on the 8th December 2013 she was stolen 16/11/13….I don’t really believe too hot to handle is ever possible for a  new unknown stolen baby but in Pup’s case  we  were too slow to find out if it worked.

Pup didn’t catch when she was first stolen. We worked to make sure she did but we were too slow off the mark…I know I let Pup down in so many ways  and my only excuse was shock, disbelieve and not knowing what I should do….

We should have stormed social media. We should have got her really well known in the first 48 hours yet we were shocked she had been stolen and rendered  incapable of getting over that shock fast.

We also did think animals were scanned….Sadly they too often are not and unless forced to bring in a change by law  that wont change. Persuasion wont work it will only happen by act of law…The Government will only do that IF  they see  public opinion  is pointing to it being what is wanted…I wish I believed it would change via  sense and dedicated folk trying to get the UK Government to  bring it about…

It really is so simple … Chips have no use unless they are scanned yet  …

I wish I was clever. I wish I was able to ride this hurt without  huge grief or anger but I can’t…

 

WHERE ARE YOU MY BABY!!!!

 

AND  why should they scan? To stop this much hurt…..

I actually tweeted the other day that for me there are worst things than death..I think Dog Theft may be one of them……Tucked away here I can say I know death would be easier than this….

What does it take to survive the 3 year mark…..

Lack of Microchip Scanning & a Petition….

Who scans our dogs….Very few!!

The UK has this stupid thing that even by law dog wardens don’t have to scan for chips.

Most do, its in the ‘Best Practice’ side but rescues don’t have to and nor do vets or railways….Why chip your dogs if nobody scans?

Why are chips not proof of ownership in a stolen dog but are in a dog taken under the DDA!!! Dangerous (to) Dogs Act…the to is mine as its got both bsl and amendments that do indeed make it dangerous to dogs….

Vets Get Scanning have spent almost 10 years trying to get the law changed re scanning and ownership via microchips.

The Ramblings of an Idiot….

This stolen dog thing really takes it out of you….

Its was Pup’s 2nd Birthday on the 17th June…We have not seen her since she was just under 5 months old…

Kinda out of fresh ideas now for a min but got this huge hurt that just wont go away… In the UK scanning chips  isn’t mandatory…I actually spoke to a Dog Warden who told me I should thank him for scanning as he didn’t have to ….No wonder we don’t get out dogs home.

I keep hoping Pup is happy and safe but we talked to 3 communicators…If they are right she isn’t happy and wants to come home quite badly. Localish from one but further afield with the other two. .

I find my self going over and over why we have failed to find her…We were next to useless…Stunned…Shocked and deeply hurt.

We were also out of our depth and like headless chickens really…….What didn’t we do wrong at the start… I am convinced if I knew then what I know now we may have got her home….If only you could turn back the clocks eh? Mind if you could do that he would have met more than  a puppy to steal sat there that night…. I am not a violent person but for that scumbag light fingered shit head I could actually make an exception….

I would brand them and let society deal with em!! Across the forehead I think?

He hasn’t just stolen Pup he stole our lives….

I am riddled with guilt anyway but Pup’s added don’t have drag at me. The bones are suffering too which never helps 😉 I loath arthritis only slightly below scumbag dog thieves….

On the pluss side I stopped ranting at the Fates…I now rant at the Ether as thats where Pup is to us…

So lost to us…..

So much time missed….

So much bonding that we can never get back….

Except I have bonded even more with her in her absence than I realised I could….

We wont stop looking but I need some ideas…..

Where are you my baby??????
